Lao po pi

I tried this before when I was a kid...but didn't know that it's actually lao po pi....I thought it was just some kind of biscuits back then...

Comparing them to the famous Hongkong lao po pi, I actually prefer this. It yummy... ^_^

Traditional look, taste and all...the one that my colleague had bought happened to be prawn flavoured. Just wondering...does it come with other flavours too?

an hr's wait

How will you be like after waiting for more than an hr for a person?

Well...I caught someone smiling after over an hr of waiting...no complaints at all...and the first thing said was "You must be tired. Are u hungry?"

DnD vs Dn"P"

A DnD can turn out to be stressful if it becomes DnP-Dinner and Performance...that's what happened last Sat. But we had great fun. The team spirit keeps me motivated and optimistic though my flu wasn't doing me any good. My nostril was fuming, eyes were red from the flu...the veins were really obvious....that makes putting on my contact lens a challenge...

Much coordination needed and timing was a very important factor. I would say my team mates took it really cool. Way to go guys!

All went well till someone dropped the guitar...think that sort of affected HP....he's all so precious guitar...I felt bad....cos' SALT (sound and effect) had failed, indirectly...

But there were things that happened that diverted my attention from that-the support from those that weren't performing. Words of understanding and reassurance, people saving food for us, people standing at the "frontline" with viewcams and cameras during our performance...*touched*

So much seen, felt, tasted(coldest shark fin I had even eaten) and touched(the most sticky "foundation")...Went home exhausted by satisfied from an eventful day... =)

Dream

I dreamt of him again....back in the hospital. We were talking. Just like back...in the hospital. He was lying on my lap after he finally open his eyes. He told me he needed something...Just as I was about to respond, I woke up to find myself in the room...

The fact that he's not around anymore hit me real hard this time...cos' he felt so real in the dream.

I hate this feeling...

Chef challenge

Wasn't feeling too good on Friday....but my craving for those Jerry's Buffalo wings was overwhelming.....bought half a dozen each of Intensive Fire and Chef Challenge.....and now I am sick. Sick since last Sat. I know what you wanna say.."Serve u right"?

Birthday celebration

I had one of the coolest birthday "celebration" yesterday....A beautiful plot that requires some rules to be broken, a rush against the limited time we have, good coordination...er....in fact excellent coordination and timing.....cos' that's what spoilt the plan...

Yes-We broke the rules and were "discovered" somehow...but we went ahead with the plan....=P

It was drizzling, we run around around the premise like kids....trying to locate the unit...in fact everyone expected HP to remember the unit....but well....er...after standing outside a few units, checking out the slippers and all, we decided that HP should go back to the car to confirm the unit #(he had conned the BD gal to gather the information....) We made a few phone calls to try to buy time and to make sure that the BD gal is still at home....rushed like crazy and got to the destination on time but we missed the birthday gal. who would have guessed there's so many lobbies around!

We were coordinated. Let me recall...we had people holding on to a guitar, food, cake, cameras, standing outside the door. In fact we had the ideal formation to surprise her! All ready to sing, present her with the cake and food and to capture her reactions with the camera....but.....no one came to the door after we knocked and ringed the bell a few times....

I turned to look at everyone else....all looked helpless and disappointed somehow...decided to call her to confirm our fear....yes, she's out already, on the bus somemore!!! arghhh!!!!

We weren't ready to stop there....we had went too far....we agreed to proceed to destination 2...we waited at the restaurant that we expect her and her friends to have lunch at but they didn't turn up. We waited like close to an hr? We decided to have lunch there....

But...I realised something.... Good food + lousy mood= bad food

We decided to let her know that we're waiting. Can't afford to wait any longer for OBVIOUS reason...We called many times trying to locate the bd gal. That's when we felt reallyyyyy helpless and disappointed....

We decided to give her one last call before we leave the place with the cake and food...she picked up the phone!!!!!!!! When she finally showed up, we were really glad! You can't imagine how excited and relief we were....

Empty trains during peak hrs

Do you know that everyday, between 7am and 9am, 11 empty trains head from Yishun MRT Station to Marina Bay station - two between 7am and 8am and nine between 8am and 9am?

I didn't know that...just read about it from the newspaper today that this was in place to meet the higher passenger demand during the peak hours....lucky Yishun-ers!

"giant" at carpark

First, they send u a letter for you to vote for an upgrade..then they send u a letter informing u about the results of the voting exercise...Majority goes for an upgrade? So what'z next?

Some time later u will find your carpark been taken over by a "giants"...overnight...wala! You get your extension. This is how fast things happen....feels like lego....

Super Nugat?

It's not the typical nougat that u get from Australia. They are from Indonesia and it doesn't taste any inferior. In fact, it's good!

overweight

We were being told that Rex has to lose some weight and to get back his waistline....He's 33.5kg which is way above his ideal weight..


Vet also pointed out that we have to distinguish between greed and hunger(when it comes ot Rex)...well...in most cases, we know that he's just greedy but still I will give in to his whinning and those teary big eyes of him...

The vet was quick to notice the change of my expression...He commented something about me being guilty....=P

sigh...just have to be more strict with Rex and myself ya....

BTW, did I tell u that Rex simply LOVE going to the vet? He goes gaga everytime he's goes to the vet...always ready to greet everyone who comes into that door...he's really GOOD at creating a scene at the vet...never fails to! =(

Stupid Bee

I or rather WE were almost scared to death by that stupid BEE. She didn't stir at all when I touch her. When she woke up, she was stoned like anything...she looked really small in those oversized covers. She appeared to be in great pain...So when she started talking in that baby-ish manner and kept repeating her questions...I/We got really worried. She reminded me of someone very dear to me....so much...in fact, she's a close resemblance of him..

What is even more scary is that she had no recollection of what happened the day before. What she had said, done and all....sigh....

Rex at "paradise"

Well...the title and photos said it all...

Kueh Lapis? NOPE!

Nope, it's not Kueh Lapis. It's Lapis Surabaya.

well...in a way, it does look like one..2 pcs of sponge cakes separated by a layer of blueberry. It's really a very interesting combination...in fact the two types of cakes are very different..Top layer being soft, yellowish in colour and not as sweet vs the bottom layer which has the texture of brownie, brownish in colour and taste bitter sweet...

And guess what? I took like half of this...and this thing is bigger than those Kueh Lapis that u can find in Singapore...so...I think I will keep the title of Miss Pui Pui for a while...=(

I am exercising!

Yes-most if not all of you know that I stopped exercising since Secondary school but guess what? I started exercising yesterday! I played badmintion!! Yes-I considered that exercising. At least a start for me!

I think my engine need some serious warning up though....

How do I know?

Well...I panted like crazy...to the extend that I thought I will stop breathing anytime...-_- bad huh? That's not all....my hand can't stop trembling after which....and I have slept with my body aching like anything....woke up this morning feeling and looking like a zombie.....

How long did I play? Max up....around 0.5hr only.... =P

Spoke to Boy Boy over the phone!

I spoke to boy boy over the phone! I was being told that he flipped over(usually he will do so when he is expecting a stroke) after I called out his name(s)....and he actually stared at the phone!

So both Ah Rex and Ah ni ni can recognise my voice(over the phone). Happy like crazy!!!

BTW, did I tell u that my Martini is getting cuter everyday...keke....even though she's rounder-like mummy now...

I will have her latest photo posted once her abuser send it to me. wahaha!

Fresh Dates

What are these? They are dates. What is common to us might be the dried red dates used for soup. These are the fresh ones.

It's a very interesting fruit...I was first introduced to it by a stranger at the Bugis Hawker center. It was an old granny. She offered me the fruit and I felt bad rejecting her....and so that was my first encounter with these fresh dates....

What does the photo tell u? chocolate cake? big cake? Nothing out of the ordinary? Check out the cleaver....given so, what can u deduce? Bingo! Why on earth use a cleaver when you have a plastic knife that comes together with the cake? Well...cos' the base is really hard...

When I complained to SOMEONE, his reply was,"At least he left u a mushroom" -_- Very funny....now I am left with a mushroom and a cube....

Like eating packed mixed rice?

I can't help but wonder,"hmmm...is the food really that good or is he just hungry?"

I was observing HIM...during dinner...HE seemed to read my mind...cos' the next thing he said to me was "I like to eat packed mixed rice, and I am talking about packed rice"

My reaction? It was something close to this:

Apart from MOX, SIX might be the worst...I hang on to the line for more than 0.5hr and still I hear music only.......and messages that goes "for non urgent matters, u might want to email us at..."

Arghhh....Come on! Isn't this common sense! I have waited so long! The more I listen to that msg, the more frustrated I feel. ...all I need is to talk to someone!!!!

Tried like 4 times yesterday and 1 time this morning. Did I finally get to talk to anyone? The answer is NO!!!

Toilet anyone?

Nope, this is not part of an apartment, hotel or home...it's a toilet in a shopping mall....yup...you are seeing a sofa, coffee table and makeup area furnished with mirrors, plants, contemporary looking stools...further more, there's this built-in tissue compartment in front of every mirrors!


Guess what? This is not found in town but in one of the neighbourhood shopping centres! It is so "un-toilet" that the few times I enter, there will be girls chatting away at the sofa, taking photographs and of course-ppl dolling themselves up at the makeup area.....


Interesting huh?

To Ms Bomberman

She was just a little gal when I first saw her....hiding behind "something"(I didn't say anywhere k! haha)...but she's all grown up now....The last time I met up with her....I suddenly realised how time flies...

Imagine this...I was the one who show her how make up is done....but now, I found myself asking her, "hi, how do u that huh? can help me apply?"

Lesson learnt from Ms Bomberman cum sleeping machine cum witty-funny cum nini abuser.... constant learning and upgrading is a must, not a good to have anymore...I seriously do not want to be left in BACK THEN. NOW or GOING FORWARD is seriously a more attractive zone to be in ya...

Durian puffs

After like 2 years, I got to eat these delicious durian puffs again! Only that this time is not FOC...used to have all 20pcs for breakfast but now...just eating 10 is enough to make me feel bloated....check out the durian filling...nothing stingy at all...

CHB-if you are reading this, NOPE, we are not crazy about durian! Really!

Big green leaves! Look all so healthy right? This wasn't how this pot of money plant looked like a few months back. In fact, the condition was so bad that the owner wanted to throw it away....but I saved it! Thumbs up to me man! kekeke

Left the house without my hp...felt really uneasy for the rest of the day....how can anyone in modern society survive without a phone?

This is ironic-I am ok leaving the house without my wallet but without my hp? It's a big NO NO.....

But do not be deceived.....there's nothing simple to it's taste....basically, it felt as if u are eating the fruit itself...Apart from an approximately 0.5cm-thick layer of sponge cake, it's just the durian fresh itself! This is what I call quality!

As usual, I sat down beside him and started to stroke him as I sing....it all started off well...but after like the fifth time, he moved away!
