There were so much to share even before the trip but well time was a my greatest constraint. In fact, if U noticed, I have cut down on my frequency of updating my blog.

Naturally, when I returned, I was eager to update everyone of the things that had happened. Sad to say..I lost my voice on 17th Nov-after talking to J, CL, AL and mum and bro.

Scary..one minute I was talking, the next minute I was croaking....voice just gone like that...

I depended much on notes, MSN, SMS and such...I felt like a handicapped...

Physio 04112008

I went without any expectation. Was telling myself that it's gonna be a total waste of time...(also, I drag going to SGH) but the physiotherapy session did help to ease the pain!

The therapist ask for my permission for her student to sit in for observation. I said yes only to find out that it's a guy...

It's alright? Not when you have to roll up your top and you are being asked to try out some awkward posture...pretty embarassing. -_- Some of which was really painful.

After a few rounds of trying out different postures with the help of the therapy, I was asked to try out the same postures again. Miraculously, the pain disappeared!!!

This is what I call MAGIC.

Feeling so much better!

A few things had happened in the last few weeks. Emotionally drained. My physical discomfort didn’t help.

Some of which, I got to share, to trash things out. Some of which I realized that it is better to leave them as it is…

I have made the choice.

Visited the Specialist

Another round of X-rays taken. Think the lot that I brought along is useless..

Pain killers given. Physiotherapy appointment made. What’s next. Wait.

I am supposed to go back for a follow up 3 months later. Should the pain stays, MRI will be arranged.

Cross my fingers that everything is gonna be alright…for now, I am desperately feeding my bones with calcium(suspected that I am overdosing myself with all the goodies..haha)

No Chance

She lost that last chance to her low EQ, childishless and hyper sensitive self.

I received a "sarcastic remark" from giving her a second chance. I anticipated her atttitude or reply but well...it's a principle thing. I had done the same for the group but at the end of it I realised that they are just not worth it.

What did I learn?

I grow. I learnt. I move on. I learnt to appreciate things that are dearer to me.

Oh ya! Thank you for talking some sense into me. I will truly let go now. Really.

explaination needed?

To explain or not to? But seriously, is there a need to? Will your clarification be accepted? Preconception/Misinterpretation/Personality difference has already drawn the line...

What is your take on this?

九皇爺

The nine emperors gods (called "Jiu Wang Ye 九王爷" in Singapore and Malaysia) actually refers to the " Jiu Huang Da Di 九皇大帝" (The Nine Great Emperors) in the Daoist deities system (Daoist Patheon).

The birth of the nine emperors happened to be on the 9th of September in the chinese lunar calendar, and this day was often celebrated as the festival of "Jiu Huang 九皇" by the Daoist in Singapore and Malaysia.

The nine emperor gods are very often known as "Bei Dou Jiu Xing 北斗九星" (9 north star plough Gods), since they are gods of the stars or planets. Their mother, "Dou Mu Yuan Jun 斗姆元君" (Mother north star), is also the mother of stars.

A festival is held over the first nine days of the ninth lunar month to celebrate the return from heaven to earth of the Nine Emperor spirits.

The nine emperor gods consist of the following:
1. "Gou Chen Tian Huang Da Di 勾陈天皇大帝" (Vega Star)
2. "Bei Ji Zhi Wei Da Di 北极紫微大帝" (Polaris Star)
3. The 7 Northern Constellation Stars (called "Bei Dou Qi Xing 北斗七星"):
a. "Tan Lang 贪狼"
b. "Ju Meng 巨门"
c. "Lu Chun 禄存"
d. "Wen Qu 文曲"
e. "Lian Zhen 廉贞"
f. "Wu Qu 武曲"
g. "Po Jun 破军"

Yes, we are fortunate to chance upon one of the biggest 九皇爺 celebration here in Singapore. =)

Mothers to exercise

"SSC to launch campaign to get mothers to exercise

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Sports Council said less than 40 per cent of mothers in their thirties and forties exercise regularly. So it is launching a three-month fitness campaign aimed at getting sedentary women moving.

The planned activities include over 20 women-only fitness tryouts called Ladies Escapades. They include mother and child martial arts, Thai kick-boxing and fun karting.

According to a survey by the Singapore Sports Council, the top three reasons many women cite for not exercising are lack of time due to family, work or plain lack of interest."

Smart move to include both mother and child in exercising regime cos' I seriously think it's quite hard for mothers to take time away from their children to exercise(but well, I myself wasn't even exercising now! whahaha!)

Chin Mee Chin Confectionery

Chin Mee Chin Confectionery, located at 204 East Coast Road.

(traditional shelves with glass sliding doors displaying the freshly baked pastries)

It is popular for its kaya, a kind of custard jam.

Chin Mee Chin Confectionery was founded in 1925. Styled like a typical Chinese confectionery, this Hainanese coffeeshop exudes an old world charm with its ceiling fans and marble-top tables typical of coffeeshops of the 1950s.

The confectionery roasts its own coffee beans and bakes its own bread. In pre-independent Singapore, it was the Eurasian community that frequently patronised the shop before many migrated to Canada and Australia in the 1950s to 1960s. Today, Chin Mee Chin remains popular, especially on Sundays, when the worshippers of the nearby Church of the Holy Family pop by the shop. (extracted from the internet)

And yes, we tried and really like the coffee and luncheon meat bread!!!

Pain

With the pain that I am currently having, images of him back then become so clear...how much pain did he go thru then? Didn't he experience pain before all those torments?

I realised how much I have missed him and I am still missing him..greatly..

Oktoberfest

The Oktoberfest is a sixteen-day festival held each year in Munich, Bavaria, Germany during late September (and running to early October).

What began as a wedding commemoration for Prince Ludwig (the future King Ludwig I) and Princess Thereseof Saxe-Hildburghausen in 1810 has evolved into an annual debauched booze-fest replete with sausage, roast chicken, ox and, of course, beer by the ‘Big Six’ – Spaten, Löwenbräu, Augustiner, Hofbräu, Paulaner and Hacker-Pschorr breweries. How the Germans manage to squeeze all that in while wearing too-tight lederhosen (leather knickerbockers) and dirndl (traditional dress) remains a mystery. (http://www.timeout.com/sg/en/search?keyword=Oktoberfest&section=&date=any)

What's up in Singapore apart from the Singapore Beer Festival to be held at Fort Canning Park from Oct 02-05 this year???

Hump

Rex(aka Kuku dog)=greedy dog=dominating dog=attention seeker.

After his repeated incidents/persistence in humping other dogs(can be even bigger than him), I might wanna add on my more nickname for him...Sex addict.

Why can't he play the "normal" way? We know he just wanna play...

Rex, we didn't want to stop u from playing but it's very awkard for daddy and mummy to explain to those strangers who are fearful that u might injure their dogs you know? hmm...maybe it's easier for u to play ball with humans instead huh? But don't get too excited and jump on visitors k? You are not small anymore k? In fact, you are a giant...well, a gentle giant for sure!!!

Big kid

Maturity doesn't go hand in hand with your age, rank or seniority. A person can sulk, be unprofessional, childish even when he/she is wrong but still able to project himself as a victim, wanting to be pacified…

U have to go because...

"Around 9300 pets were left at SPCA between July last year and June this year"

That was what caught my attention from the newspaper last Saturday....sad..Some of the reasons given by these ex-owners were:

-too hyperactive
-The maid is gone
-barking too much

-kids-

Married?

Any children?

These are the qns that people of a certain age group are constantly being asked.

If your answer is yes, then how prepared are u?

Over lunch, a colleague was sharing with us that she was on leave for the whole week to prepare for her daughter's 1 yr old birthday. 1 wk!?!! As the conversation continues to the plan for a 2nd kid, her reaction was, "too expensive, can't afford" kind of answer.

I paused.

I have seen ppl in extreme situation who are struggling to make ends meet but yet manage to bring up their kids in a comfortable yet not extravagant manner...in fact, these kids are one of the most adorable, matured and smartest kids around...so, what are the constraints that we have defined for ourselves? How competitive are u as parents?

Which type of parent will I be?
Seriously, I can't be sure...

Tui na

2 incidents that aggravated my ankle sprain(same spot as my old injury), I finally went for Tui na. I really think that all these sinsei has the best job. People pay them just for them to identify and induce pain to the problematic area. It was so painful that I typcially has to grab hold onto the table and cabinet beside me.... :~(

coach and to be coached

My first attempt failed. Failed badly. Told HER about it. Her reply was,"but you were the one who taught me the basic…"

Lesson learnt:
You can be the coach to start with but you may eventually be coached by the person you have coached. Upgrading and updating oneself is crucial. =)

My girl

She was crying out loud before I even got into the car, when she's finally done with the jumping and licking, she was panting. When I looked her in the eyes, I realised she had cried..oh..she must be really happy to see mummy...afterall, I didn't get to see her for quite a while...I was being told that she was all so excited when my name was mentioned back home...sigh..my girl.. =)

She was in my arms most of the time that night(she's so light as compared to boy boy...in fact, Rex's tail wagging tail can send her flying..keke...).

The minute I have to leave her, nini let out this throaty sound that we have never heard before....I felt so bad having to leave her like that every time we meet...but well...she has one of the best care-giving any dogs can think of(Rex's daddy is also one of the best k!)...

Common understanding

Finally, I got to tell the truth or to narrate the nightmare. I didn't expect myself to tell her of anyone of them but well, I finally get to do so..I felt soooooooooo good. At least she knows. At least I can't tell the truth...

SCAB

Daddy wanted to help Rex…but think cos' he removed the scab, it will take longer for the wound to heal…sob…

What is a Scab?
You're running around with your friend, laughing your head off, when suddenly you trip over a rock and hit the ground. As you pick yourself up, you notice that your knee is bleeding. But while you're trying to figure out where that rock came from, the blood from the cut on your knee is already busy at work creating a scab.

As soon as you scrape or break the skin anywhere on your body, special blood cells called platelets (say: playt-lits) spring into action. Platelets stick together like glue at the cut, forming a clot. This clot is like a protective bandage over your cut that keeps more blood and other fluids from flowing out. The clot is also full of other blood cells and thread-like stuff called fibrin (say: fy-brin) that help hold the clot together.

So now you're home, you're cleaned up, and you're not bleeding anymore. But things are still happening on your knee. As the clot starts to get hard and dries out, a scab forms. Scabs are usually crusty and dark red or brown. Their job is to protect the cut by keeping germs and other stuff out and giving the skin cells underneath a chance to heal.

If you look at a scab, it probably just looks like a hard, reddish glob. But under its surface, all kinds of things are going on. New skin cells are being made to help repair the torn skin. Damaged blood vessels are being fixed.

White blood cells, the kind that fight infection to keep you from getting sick, go to work by attacking any germs that may have gotten into the cut. White blood cells also get rid of any dead blood and skin cells that may still be hanging around the cut. By the time it's all done, a new layer of skin will have been made.

Eventually, a scab falls off and reveals new skin underneath. This usually happens by itself after a week or two. Even though it may be tough not to pick at a scab, try to leave it alone. If you pick or pull at the scab, you can undo the repair and rip your skin again, which means it'll probably take longer to heal. You may even get a scar. So let that scab sit there — your skin will thank you!

Pot calling Kettle black

Encountered something this morning...

A lady(person A) was complaining about how crude a person(person B) is to another person(Person C) when she is just like the person that she was complaining about-that is, if not worse.

What reinforces on what person A had said was that the "victim"(person C) started to show that "victimised" look. Her expression and body language really suggested that she was abused in every sense by her so call partner(person B). This happens everytime person A makes that remark.

I felt like asking person C-if you are really victimised, why keep quiet? U are not a kid anymore. Do u really need someone to speak up for u? Do you really want your friend to appear so bad in front of everyone even if the impression was wrong? Or maybe everyone likes to be pampered in this manner…sigh…

Neo Angelinque

Neo Angelinque- the anime that I am watching now(if only the translation on youtube is done faster..)

The story takes place in a fictional world called Arcadia, where life-draining monsters called Thanatos plague the populace. The only ones who have the power to exterminate these creatures are Purifiers, but only a few exist. One day, Angelique, who is just a presumably normal girl attending school, is visited by Nyx, a rich gentlemen, as well as a Purifier, who created an organization comprised of Purifiers dedicated to eliminating Thanatos. Nyx is interested in the potential power she possesses and invites her to join his organization, but she refuses since she wants to become a doctor, like her father. However, when her school is later attacked by a Thanatos, she ends up activating her powers in her want to protect those in danger. After purifying the creature, she finds out she has a unique purifying power, and that is she the one that has been foretold in legends, the "Queen's Egg". It is then that her journey begins, and she becomes the only female Purifier in the world. This series is noted as being quite similar to Kiniro no corda.(extracted from wikipedia)

Super active!!

They have only seen him once and after like a good 0.5hr, they commented,"He's very active huh?!!" I looked at the strangers. He has surely made them very very tired….the kids are still excited though…haha…well...he was dead tired by the time he got home...
Sleepy eyes to start with...

Dozing off...
Snoring...

大二爷伯

Visited the temple. Something unique about this temple is that they actually have signboard beside every statue explaining how they have come about. ..Didn’t expected this but it has turned out to be an educational trip for me…

The story of Da Er Ye Bo(大二爷伯) caught my attention...

Qiye and Baya are 2 prominent figures assosicated with the Cheng Huang temple. Their duty is to capture and send all criminals to the dieties for judgement and sentence in hell.

According to the legend of “Do not break one’s promise”, the 2 great general used to work for the magistrate. They were good friends and later become sworn brothers.

One day, when they were out on duty the sky suddenly became very cloudy. Baye told Qiye to wait for him while he rushed back to get umbrella. However, when Baye reached home, a sudden pain struck him and he had to rest for a while. Meanwhile, it has started to rain. The rain got very heavy tha t the water level started to rise. Knowing that Baye was a man who kept his word, Qiye decided not to leave the designated meeting place. Qiye finally drowned. The persistent struggle has caused his face to turn black. Baye blamed himself for Qiye death and hang himself on a tree(thus explaining the tongue).

He's a big boy now!

We were packing the other day when we found boy boy's old collars/chokers...man, this boy has grown so much...and he's definitely stronger now. Twice when he pounced on me the other day, I actually have to take steps back in order not to injure myself. Come to think of it...the relapse on my back injury might be due to that!!!

But well...he's just too happy to see mummy...keke...that boy is easily excited. He's a simple boy. =)

Closure

He asked about HIM. I said I am not sure. In fact, I didn't wanna know. He said he saw him. He was with someone. It's a she. She's very pretty. He paused and peeped at me.

My reply was,"Good. It's good news. At least I feel so much better now..." I ended the statement with a smile.

Finally a closure. A story with a good ending...

Motherhood

I knew that she has changed the moment she told me, "Time for the milk milk session and I need to cut her nails now, Talk to you soon ya?"

It's interesting how motherhood can change someone. Not just anyone. Someone like her. The love that was emitted from her was just too overwhelming....

It's interesting how that small thing can bond us so closely together..
